Founded in 1973 by Berkeley couple Ted Bennett and Deborah Cahn, Navarro Vineyards is one of Anderson Valley’s pioneering estate wineries, known for crafting Alsatian-style wines including Gewürztraminer, Riesling, Chardonnay, and Pinot Noir. Located along Highway 128 in Philo, the family-owned winery farms about 100 acres of sustainably grown vineyards and sells most of its 35,000–40,000 cases directly to consumers through its long-standing wine club and tasting room built from redwood harvested on the property. Navarro also produces its famous non-alcoholic grape juices, first made for their milk-allergic child, and remains family-run today by second-generation owners who also operate Pennyroyal Farm in nearby Boonville. Consistently recognized for producing California’s top Gewürztraminer, Navarro Vineyards reflects Anderson Valley’s spirit of craftsmanship, community, and respect for the land.
