There are 100 acres of Pinot Blanc grown in the valley and very few bottlings from this varietal, making it all the more special to seek out. Tied with Gewürztraminer, it is the second most widely planted white wine of the region, although often used as a blending grape.
Stylistically this dry white wine is a perfect everyday sipper, complimenting light foods or on its’ own. Tart flavors of lemon and stone fruit are often present, along with tree nuts. This wine can be stainless steel fermented for brighter expressions, or some producers will introduce it to time on the lees and neutral oak barrel.
