The Bordeaux grape varietal Semillon is the smallest white grape planting in the region and is farmed only by one vineyard. This grape gets quite large, and when harvested, it can be a tad slimy to the touch. No harm from the slime as the grape produces delicious full-bodied wines.
Stylistically, this wine has flavors of textured lemon custard and tree nuts. It is often described as having lanolin qualities, and can range from light and zesty to rich and creamy, often compared to Chardonnay. It tends to benefit from natural oak barrels.
