Due to the cool climate in Anderson Valley the original plantings were mostly Alsatian Varietals. One varietal with unmistakable Alsatian roots is Gewürztraminer. With distinctive and intense aromatics that are both crisp and spicy, this varietal offers tones of rose, lychee and stone fruit. ⁠

As the second most planted white wine after Chardonnay, there are many opportunities to taste both a sweet and a dry version - if you have never tasted a dry Gewürztraminer, you are in for a revelation! ⁠

Last week thanks to the California Wine Institute we had the good fortune to host a group of international wine buyers from around the world. Many of these buyers traveled thousands of miles to explore our beautiful valley and taste the spectacular wine produced here. It was wonderful meeting them all - and a reminder that everything is made better and truly is just more fun when built around relationships. ⁠

In truth, even just coming up from the bay area is an adventure (128 is a ride!) - we are grateful to everyone who makes the journey and joins us in this special valley - whether it's for Pinot Fest in the Spring, Winter White Wine Festival or just a weekend get away.
