“Syrah in Anderson Valley is like walking on the edge of reason, and some debate exists about where that line is, which side of the river” – Winemaker Wesley Box

In warmer years the wines develop extraordinary complexity, depth and spice from the surrounding redwood forest. The closer to the pacific the more white pepper elements emerge from a shift in soil composition and cooler temperatures. Only four properties grow Syrah in Anderson Valley. The vineyards are planted on the eastern and western ridges and benefit from warmer temperatures found above the lingering fog of the valley floor.
