On Friday, Scharffenberger Cellars arrived as the featured sparkling wine guest for one of the kick-off chef dinners: Bubbles, Bourbon & Burgers at The Truffle Pig restaurant. We teamed up with Colorado Sommelier Roland Herrmann to share the Brut & Brut Rosé, answering questions about the Anderson Valley appellation and clarifying the difference between Schramsberg and Scharffenberger, which was a very common mixup by guests and a great opportunity to educate them! BTW- did you know Schramsberg owns vineyards in Anderson Valley that are used in their Napa Valley production?
On Saturday, Roland led a Basics on Bubbles seminar featuring Anderson Valley Scharffenberger Rosé & Roederer Estate Brut next to Champagne Louis Roederer Collection 242 (the second year of a label recognizing the now 242 vintage of the Champagne house), La Gioiosa Prosecco, Segura Viudas Cava, & Bouvet Cremant de Loire Brut. Consumers were able to see firsthand the craftsmanship of Anderson Valley sparkling wine, as well as better understand the different methods of style and production found in our beloved wine world of bubbles.
Saturday afternoon Anderson Valley Wines presented still wines at the Grand Tasting, sharing our world class wines with wine lovers who sought us out. Featured wines included:
Brashley Vineyards White Pinot Noir & Pinot Noir
Bee Hunter Wine Chardonnay
Foursight Wine Paraboll Pinot Noir
Goldeneye Winery Anderson Valley Pinot Noir
Lichen Estate Pinot Noir
