Sip Into Summer
There’s nothing better than a fresh pairing on a warm summer day, and this one hits all the right notes! Light, bright, and extremely elegant, the Fathers + Daughters Cellars Sauvignon Blanc is the perfect match for a crisp, seasonal Green Goddess summer salad.
Meet the Wine
Grown in the cool-climate vineyards of Anderson Valley, this Sauvignon Blanc offers zesty citrus, tropical fruit, and is round with minerality and body. Coming from Anderson Valley’s oldest planted vines (planted in the 1960s), this wine is worth seeking out and should be in all of our cellars. It’s the kind of wine that elevates a weekday lunch or anchors a summer backyard dinner party.
The Perfect Summer Pairing
We recently paired it with this beautiful Green Goddess Summer Vegetable Salad from Love & Lemons. Creamy herb-driven dressing, with garden fresh parsley, cilantro, dill, mint, chives, and tarragon, and crunchy greens play off the wine’s acidity and aromatics in all the right ways. Boil some green beans, grill some corn and yellow squash, and dress up this traditional Three Sisters Salad, which is a vibrant dish featuring the staple crops of many Indigenous peoples of North America: corn, beans, and squash. It’s a match made in Mendocino.
Tip: Chill your Sauvignon Blanc for 30–45 minutes before serving to bring out its brightness and lift the herbal notes in the salad.
Make It Yours
Whether you’re packing a picnic, planning a dinner al fresco, or just looking for a quick way to make summer taste a little better, make this your new summer go-to pairing.
