Philo, California – August 26, 2025 – Mendocino’s Anderson Valley began as a lush growing area for aromatic white grapes and wines typical of the Alsace area of Germany. For many years, we were known for the winter season Alsace Festival, a celebration of white wines in what has become a region well-known for coastal Pinot Noirs and sparkling wines on par with the top Champagne houses in France. Anderson Valley is making its mark internationally, so going big and expanding the festival was a natural next move.
Now, Anderson Valley hosts the International White Wine Festival, the only white wine and sparkling wine festival in North America, February 14-15, 2026. Given the popularity of our 2025 event, VIP early admission tickets will go fast to explore white and sparkling wines from over 40 top wineries and international wines and guests, paired with food creations from local chefs and fantastic music throughout the venues. Saturday’s big tasting event is followed by Sunday open houses throughout the Valley, and the opportunity to spend more time with winemakers and industry insiders.
Over the years, growers have found that Chardonnay from Anderson Valley is fantastic, and we can grow the popular grape in many areas, including high elevations where the fog and cold allow Chardonnay to mature with full flavor while remaining perfectly balanced by bright acidity. Anderson Valley was not just aromatic whites, but a place to discover all types of white and sparkling wines.
In its reincarnation as The International White Wine Festival, the event’s first year out of the gate was a memorable one. So many wines were showcased from all over the world, including France, Germany, Australia, New Zealand and Mexico. After a successful event, word it out that this event is not to be missed. In 2026, expect to see an even broader array of international wines making the trek to the Anderson Valley to celebrate incredible local foods, great music and a memorable day with vintners, growers, winemakers, chefs and wine aficionados.
Discounted early access VIP tickets ($20 off) have been released, and General Admission ($160) will go on sale this Fall. Get your tickets now at store.avwines.com. And don’t forget to get accommodations when you buy tickets….they always go fast, and it is also Valentine’s Day & President’s Day Weekend.

The Anderson Valley Winegrowers Association (AVWA) was founded in 1983 – the same year as the appellation. Made up of 24 vineyard, 68 winery and 58 associate members, the nonprofit organization operates with the goal of supporting the region’s premier grape growers and wineries, as well as promoting the region’s distinguished wines. In addition to acting as a resource for its members, the association aims to better its community by donating funds yearly to local nonprofit organizations.
