It’s Pinot Noir Month and No Better Place to Be Than Anderson Valley For Our Online Auction of Rare Experiences and 24th Annual Pinot Fest

Philo, Calif., May 1, 2023 – No need to wait until the Anderson Valley’s renowned – and almost sold out – weekend of Pinot Noir festivities May 19-21. 2023, with an impressive auction opening today online of unique wine lots, intimate dinners and opportunities found nowhere else.
And, in true Anderson Valley spirit, the proceeds from the auction go directly to the community in which we live, work and make wine. The local AV Skate Park Project is focused on the development of a community park for all residents, and is the beneficiary of pinot lovers’ auction bids. As a bonus for anyone coming to Anderson Valley, this development will also offer the Valley’s first public restroom, a big step for our rural community!
Starting today, May 1, the AV Pinot Month Online Auction is live and bidding will continue through the month. At the PinotFest Grand Tasting, these lots will be on display alongside of a lively Raffle benefiting the Anderson Valley Fire Department. Just think how excited bidders get while drinking really good Pinot Noir. Remember it’s all about raising money for the kids (and local volunteer firefighters)! And, yes, anyone who may need the new restroom.
In the major online auction available for bidding to PinotFest attendees and those from afar who wish they were here, highlights include packages with names in “Boontling,” an old Anderson Valley language designed to describe life in and outside of the valley in simplistic phrases. For example, the “Bright Lighters” package is an adventure to the big city of San Francisco with Waits-Mast Family Cellars and Shelly Lindgren’s popular A16 restaurant that “popped up” in Boonville last summer. May 6-7 – On May 6th, Long Meadow Wine Saturday Supper at the Apple Farm in Philo, one of a series of monthly suppers celebrating the release of “Six California Kitchens,” a cookbook celebrating the life of Sally Schmitt. On May 7th, Pennyroyal Farm will join guests and Chef Perry Hoffman at Boonville Hotel for a special Sunday Supper.
- Mother’s Day weekend 5/13-14 – Goldeneye hosts live music 5/13 and all second Saturdays, and Pennyroyal Farm has Flights and Bites to celebrate all moms ($45/person)

The Anderson Valley Winegrowers Association (AVWA) was founded in 1983 – the same year as the appellation. Made up of 25 vineyard, 66 winery and 63 associate members, the nonprofit organization operates with the goal of supporting the region’s premier grape growers and wineries, as well as promoting the region’s distinguished wines.
